First Post!

For the first task of the semester in the Organisations and Cultures course, we as students must choose the three most interesting blogs within the "Blogopedia". Because topics were not a limitation for this post, i think the following seem the most interesting:
  • The Bottomless Cup: The World view of an Introvert (at http://waleedalikhan.wordpress.com). This one seemed grate because of the layout, and the premise it offered was really interesting by showing a blend of cultural issues. Plus, it also deals with some development issues (i personally liked his Artificial Development posting because we as Colombians can relate to it). I also liked his use of video and will definetely make use of "TED" in this blog.
  • Design For the Other 90%: (http://other90.cooperhewitt.org/design/?c=water). This one caught my eye because it gives a great insight on how people in developing countries, that most often live in undesirable conditions try to overcome their limitations by coming up with alternatives to the appliances, utensils and artefacts that are only at reach of a few. Something that i found really curious is that i found and article about some sort of non-electricity-using cooler, which i first saw while watching a documentary called "No Impact Man" last month; which shows that these are no only options for those in need but that those alternatives can be used effectively everywhere if people are strong-willed.
  • How to Talk to a Climate Change Skeptic (Part of Grist Special Series) (http://www.grist.org/article/series/skeptics/): I also found this blog at the BOBs webiste and i think it's really interesting since it offers both sides of a really important subject , that i personally been getting into lately and hope to find more things about later.
